Rifle (say S75) pierces shields and fully upgraded does a lot of damage. Even if shotgun blast blows away enemies you were going to melee, sometimes enemies that would hit you (because your melee is ruined) instead get pushed back. If AI uses shotgun it's a big blast, even if enemies aren't hit they often stagger, and that gives the AI and you breathing room. You can get around the shield problem by giving the AI a gun with piercing, and *if* you have the ammo to spare it's not too bad.īut generally, give AI shotgun and rifle. Second because AI doesn't aim well if it's trying to shoot enemies with shields as in Chapter 3, it can just be firing into the shield then it gets hit. But be careful again, if it's just running around it CAN die.Īs to what guns to give AI - generally not pistol or machine gun, first because the AI just doesn't use ammo efficiently (AI will shoot enemies down using 8-10 bullets perhaps per enemy, where *you* can do 1-2 bullets into leg stun into melee kill animation). If you WANT the AI to shoot, then set it to Attack mode. And if you're running around, of course AI will follow you. So if you do quick-turn (say quarter turn with controller type B), often the AI will be repositioning instead of shooting. Thing about Cover mode is, the AI likes to keep its position relative to your orientation to some degree. You can get around some of that by keeping AI in Cover mode. Plus it'll shoot enemies out of stun animations which messes with your melees which means that messes with your invincibility frames. Problem with giving AI guns is AI uses a lot of ammo and never melees so it uses even more ammo. If the AI is shooting enemies, it tends to mean the enemies are going into flinch and/or stun animations, while they're doing that they're not attacking. One is to keep AI in Cover mode, then it sticks close by you, then you don't have to worry about it dying somewhere far away as much.Īnother is to give the AI a gun. There's some ways to prevent that from happening as much. A lot of human players are worse than the AI you just don't notice because the same bad human players usually use extremely upgraded guns and/or infinite ammo and/or mods (like guns never run low on ammo, start with 999 magazine, infinite golden eggs, etc)įirst, AI will get hit.

Physicians may also refer to this as epiretinal membrane. There is no “right” or “wrong” decision, as every person has different needs and priorities. In general, you should only go ahead with surgery if you find the distortion of your vision troublesome at the moment, and not as a preventative measure. Macular pucker is a condition that occurs due to scarring of the macula tissue at the back of your eye. This is reasonable, especially if the vision in the other eye is not affected. However, if the distortion affects your ability to work, drive, read, or perform other important activities, you should consider having an operation. Some patients decide not to have an operation and accept the distorted central vision in the affected eye. A Macular Epiretinal Membrane occurs when scar tissue forms over the surface of the macula, the central part of the retina. If you are not aware of any visual problems, you might not need to have surgery. The main reason to proceed with the operation is to attempt to correct the distortion of your central vision. Your doctor will help you to decide if surgery is appropriate for you. These will be removed the morning after your surgery. If not treated promptly, retinal problems can lead to permanent. The scarring that results will seal the retina to the underlying tissue, helping to prevent a retinal detachment. At the end of the operation, we usually put a pad and shield over your eye to protect it. Certain diseases or trauma to the eye can cause scar tissue to form and pull on the retina. These dissolve naturally over about four to six weeks. They then grasp and gently peel away the epiretinal membrane from the retina. We usually put small stitches in the eye. With macular pucker, things can look wavy, or you may have trouble seeing details. Brief Description: 39 year old man presents with vision loss after bump on the head. When the macula wrinkles or bulges, your central vision is affected. The macula must lie flat against the back of your eye to work properly. During the vitrectomy, the surgeon makes tiny cuts in your eye and removes the vitreous from inside. 07, 2022 Macular pucker (also called epiretinal membrane) happens when wrinkles, creases or bulges form on your macula. The only way to treat an epiretinal membrane is by having an operation called a vitrectomy. Small nodules that are stable in size for more than 365 days are unlikely to be pulmonary metastasis. This increase in size tends to occur early, and follow-up CT in 3 months and 6 months would be appropriate in further evaluation. In oncologic patients, 28% of small pulmonary nodules detected at initial CT will increase in size, suggesting metastasis. Combined, 28% of patient' s nodules increased (90% were within 365 days 25% within 203 days and 14% within 14 days). For those with greater than 365 days follow-up, the observed nodule was increased (3, 5%) stable (51, 93%) and stable but new nodule developed (1). For those with less than 365 days, the observed nodule was increased (17, 36%), increased and new nodules (9, 19%) stable (19, 40%) stable but new nodules developed (1) and decreased (1). 2,12,13 The cochlear division continues in the anterior-inferior quadrant of the canal beneath the facial nerve, and the vestibular nerves are located posterior to these two structures within the. There were 102 cases that met criteria for inclusion.įorty-seven had follow-up CT of less than 365 days, and 55 had follow-up CT for more than 365 days. Only in the lateralmost 3 to 4 mm of the internal auditory canal do the vestibular and cochlear nerves divide into separate identifiable structures. All CT images were evaluated by two thoracic radiologists for nodules 4 mm or less. Radiology reports of thoracic CTs from a 2-year period were searched for keywords indicating a small pulmonary nodule. We evaluated a group of oncology patients to determine the outcome of small pulmonary nodules and whether they can be ignored in the therapeutic decision process. Thieme Medical Publishers 333 Seventh Avenue, New York, NY 10001, USA.It is often not possible to determine whether small nodules detected on computed tomography (CT) in oncology patients are metastatic. For the developmental research the left-right asymmetry might be a field of research. For the physician this differentiation represents a clinical and radiological challenge. Choristomas These benign tumors grow slowly and tend to produce few symptoms other than a conductive hearing loss in the affected ear correlating with the degree of ossicular involvement. The differentiation between benign and malign lesions in the CPA and IAC is important, as it requires diverse treatment protocols. In view of the sparse literature on treatment of single intracanalicular metastases, the review is broadened to the current treatment recommendations of single brain metastases. We address the issue of a possible regulation of CPA lesion laterality by asymmetrically expressed genes. The discussion focuses on the incidence of extra-axial CPA and IAC lesions with their clinical presentations and their radiological findings. The patient was treated with intrathecal chemotherapy. MRI showed an increase of the residual tumor and meningeosis carcinomatosa, and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) examination was positive for tumor cells. The patient's condition deteriorated gradually. The investigations for the primary tumor site were all negative. Histological examination revealed blennogenic cylindrical adenocarcinoma. Due to progressive headaches and dizziness, the patient underwent a left transtemporal craniotomy with subtotal tumor resection. The follow-up MRI showed an unchanged pattern of contrast enhancement. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed an extra-axial mass most likely representing a left-sided vestibular schwannoma with characteristic contrast enhancement in the IAC. (B) An axial contrast-enhanced T1-weighted image demonstrates an enhancing mass in the basal turn of the left cochlea with extension into the fundus of the internal auditory canal (arrow). He presented 8 months later with left-sided tinnitus, progressive hearing loss, and attacks of vertigo. (A) An axial T2-weighted image shows a hypointense filling defect in the basal turn of the left cochlea and fundus of the internal auditory canal (arrow). Cranial computed tomography scan revealed bilateral nonspecific periventricular and subcortical vascular lesions. We provide a review of uncommon lesions in the IAC and describe to our knowledge the first instance of a primary adenocarcinoma.Ī 60-year-old man presented with nausea and vomiting. Intracanalicular metastases of adenocarcinoma are documented, but a primary adenocarcinoma remains unreported. Despite the relatively frequent occurrence of multiple primary tumors, namely, 10% of intracranial tumors, metastasis is a rare occurrence within the internal auditory canal (IAC) and cerebellopontine angle (CPA).

Ln: Calculates the natural logarithm function.EE: Stands for “enter exponent.” It adds the “x10^” phrase to your display.Rand: Returns a random decimal number between 0 and 1.x!: Calculates the factorial of the number you’ve inserted.2nd: Assigns other functions to buttons.AC: Stands for “all clear” and resets all functions.M-: Subtracts the number on the display to the memory.M+: Adds the number on the display to the memory. Most of them are self-explanatory (like a plus sign), but we’ll go over some that may be confusing: Most commonly, you first enter the number and then choose a function.Īll you need to know is what each button represents. The process is straightforward as you need to input numbers and select which operations you want to do with your input. If you’ve ever held a calculator in your hand (or used an app with the same name), you’ll know your way around. You can also obtain a financial calculator that focuses on functions such as interest rates, cash flow, cost-sell margins, and so on. In most cases, a graphing calculator is not necessary for business-related operations. In other words, you’ll have a graphical representation of a function using the X and Y axes. What’s the Difference Between a Scientific Calculator and a Graphing Calculator?Īs the name suggests, a graphing calculator is a type of a scientific calc that comes with a high-resolution screen that can graph functions and plot coordinates. If you’re not willing to do the math manually, a calculator can help you with the following: Why do you, as a company owner, need a scientific calculator? Let’s say you’re not in the business of solving engineering or mathematics problems. Today, you can find hundreds of scientific calculators online that are similar to this one. In the dark olden times (i.e., before the internet), you’d have to buy one of these bad boys and carry them around with you at all times - or just times you need it. A scientific calculator will return the correct answer, which is 8. For example, if you want to find out to calculate 2+2*3, a regular calculator will say it’s 12. Difference between a regular and a scientific calculator: Operations on a Regular CalculatorĪnother difference is that the scientific calculator obeys the rules of operations. But it’s not that scary - it’s a normal calculator that can do more complex math operations. What Is a Scientific Calculator?Ī scientific calculator sounds like a complicated apparatus that people in white coats use when they flap around the lab. We’ve been in the same boat as you, so we’ve decided to add a free scientific calculator to our website. If you’re one of those kids that moaned, “I’ll never use this,” during a math class, you’re now a grownup looking for online calculators. Before setting up a company, nobody ever tells us how much math goes into running a business. It was entered into the 1889 art exhibition at the Glaspalast in Munich, where it won a gold. It shows a glowing angel with bird-like wings and a flaming sword. He is buried in the Munich Waldfriedhof next to his wife Mary. The Guardian of Paradise ( German: Der Wchter des Paradieses) is an 1889 painting by the German artist Franz Stuck. His work was also part of the sculpture event in the art competition at the 1928 Summer Olympics.įranz von Stuck died on August 30, 1928, in Munich his funeral address memorialized him as "the last prince of art of Munich's great days". He was a member of the International Society of Sculptors, Painters and Gravers. His students over the years included Paul Klee, Hans Purrmann, Wassily Kandinsky, Alf Bayrle and Josef Albers. He continued to be well respected among young artists as professor at the Munich Academy, even after his artistic styles became unfashionable. Having attained a high public profile by this time, Stuck was ennobled on December 9, 1905, and would receive further public honours from around Europe during the remainder of his life. He attended the Munich School for the Applied Arts and then transfered in 1881 to the Knigliche Akademie der bildenden Knste (Royal Academy for the Fine Arts). His designs for the villa included everything from layout to interior decorations for his furniture Stuck received another gold medal at the 1900 Paris World Exposition. Franz Von Stuck (Feb 24, 1863- August 30, 1928) was a German Symbolist/Art Nouveau painter, sculptor, engraver, and architect. In 1897 Stuck married an American widow, Mary Lindpainter, and began work designing his own residence and studio, the Villa Stuck. In 1895, he began teaching painting at the Munich Academy. Also during 1893, Stuck was awarded a gold medal for painting at the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago, and was appointed to a royal professorship. The next year he won further acclaim with the critical and public success of what is now his best known work, the painting The Sin. In 1892 Stuck co-founded the Munich Secession, and also executed his first sculpture, Athlete. In 1889 he exhibited his first paintings at the Munich Glass Palace, winning a gold medal for The Guardian of Paradise. He first became well known by cartoons for Fliegende Blätter, and vignette designs for programmes and book decoration. Details Franz von Stuck (1863-1928) Inferno signed and dated 'Franz/Von/Stuck/1908' (lower left) oil on canvas in an original frame designed by the artist 50 x 82 in. From 1881 to 1885 Stuck attended the Munich Academy. To begin his artistic education he relocated in 1878 to Munich, where he would settle for life. In 1906, Stuck was awarded the Order of Merit of the Bavarian Crown and was henceforth known as Franz Ritter von Stuck.īorn at Tettenweis near Passau, Stuck displayed an affinity for drawing and caricature from an early age. Stuck was best known for his paintings of ancient egyptian mythology receiving substantial critical acclaim with The Sin in 1892. Unless signs or pavement markings tell you not to, always begin and end a right turn close to the right side of the road. Try not to brake and steer at the same time. Remember, drivers often lose control of vehicles and skid because they try to do more than one thing at a time. Gradually increase speed as you complete the turn. Do not turn the steering wheel with one finger or the flat palm of your hand. This is called “hand over hand steering.” When you have completed the turn, relax your grip on the steering wheel and let it slip or gently feed it through your hands to return to the straight-ahead position. Grip the wheel on the other side and continue turning. To keep full control of the vehicle, finish braking before you turn the steering wheel.įor a sharp turn, turn the steering wheel with one hand and cross the other hand over it. Slow down before you enter the turn the sharper the turn, the slower you should go. Signal your turn and look from side to side and check your blind spots to make sure the way is clear. When the way is clear, move into the proper lane, either the far right lane for a right turn or the far left lane in your direction for a left turn. To turn a corner, signal well before the turn. Always check your mirrors and over your shoulder to make sure the way is clear and you have enough space to complete the move safely. Before you turn a corner, back up, change lanes or turn around, you need to know what is beside and behind you. |
